This article talks about milk and all the reason why we apparently shouldn't be drinking milk and eating much dairy. This doesn't really surprise me. I don't drink milk, I usually do soy if I do anything at all, and I don't eat much meat because basically I don't like it, I don't like the way it all sits with me either. So interesting. Read it. I think it is fascinating that the dairy association or whatever it is tells us all this crap and can because they have so much money. It's funny how the people with the money tell us what to do with our lives and for lack of better knowledge we take it as scripture as they would say. So anyway. I started Piper on soy and then put her on milk and she doesn't drink milk now because I don't really push it. And I believe I will not ever put Beckett on milk now. Anyway apply it or not there is some info you won't see on the Got Milk campaign.

The author is clearly an animal rights activist so why is his view any less skewed than the dairy companies?
i've actually read that soy isn't good for children, especially boys. Something to do with the reproductive parts.
I have some coupons you can have, 8th continent soy milk's on sale at albertsons. With these coupons you can get some for .50 and some for 1.00!
THis is my last comment, promise. You should try rice milk. It's pretty good. I'm not sure it's fatty enough for the babies, so i think i'll just stick with milk for oli but for piper and eli, since they're older it may be an alright alternative. I've read ALL the PETA and vegan propaganda. while i think there is a lot of truth to what they're saying, i don't nessissarily think it's the best thing for our kids. For example, i think that little babies over 1 do need full fat milk, and i think it's important for kids to eat red meat for the b12 and iron. I myself won't completely give it up while i'm in the pregnant nursing years, because i don't want to be lacking
I heard that soy isn't that great for boys either. It causes less growth in their 'downstairs' region and can cause sterility. It is a very low number that this happens to but I would just ask a doc. That sucks because I think soy tastes so much better than milk.
I have also heard that our bodies are not good at digeting milk. Haven't really looked into it much since we don't drink that much milk. But I can imagine you would want to know more when dealing with children.
All I know is we buy the organic milk ( I can't remember the name but the container is green). It rocks for multiple reasons. But mostly because it lasts for 2 whole months. Kind of gross if you think about it too much, so I don't :)
It takes us 2 months to go through a half gallon of milk. Geez
