29 Weeks (Is that all?)

Ok nerd alert, I know. Every time I stand there for a picture I feel so retarded, and then see it and my suspicions are confirmed. I look retarded. But oh well some people appreciate the pregnancy pictures (out of towners) and some people, well I am sure just make fun of me to their friends. Well deserved. What you do with your hands in pictures, I will never know. And next time I might put on makeup. Maybe.

I copied my friend Talane's belt. But of course Piper looks so much better in her fancy pink dress. Don't we all lounge around the house in fancy dresses?

Our Project 3 and Some Rambling

Here is my third project, finally posted :).Jake let me sew literally, all weekend. He is the best. So I sewed all these things. But this big quilt is for Piper's bed and it was my official project number three. Easy and uncreative unlike Talane's.. Check it out HERE.
To give a little background, Talane is one of my bestest friends. We met at Utah State and were friends up there and lived together after we left Logan. And have been friends ever since, somehow, probably since we "get" each other better than most, we have stayed close friends even though she went on a mission and has moved to multiple states and now lives in Pennsylvania. I try not to think about how awesome it would be if she lived in my same state because that would depress me. So we make due with lots of phone calls and planning projects together, sewing together..via phone. I am lucky to have found such a good friend that I understand and understands me and also has SO the same likes and styles as I do. I love your guts Talane. (really not sure she knows how much I love her.)

My #3, honestly the material I am not in LOVE with but it was at Material Girls for 3$ a yard, so I thought it would be a good practice for the super awesome and more expensive material I am going to be using for projects 4 & 5. (hopefully I get around to them that soon.) The purple flower material is on the back and it's my favorite although I think to some it may remind them (as it does me a little) of the 80's. But I love love love flowery things, just ask Jake.. he is "letting" me put flowery rosette curtains in OUR room. What a good sport he is.

Lemons for my mango. Can't wait to wrap her in it. (And get her out of my abdomen.)

Decor from left over blanket material.

More linens from leftovers. You can't see the lace in either of these, but it's the best part in this bottom one, it is double layered.

And don't take Piper into the fabric store unless you want to have something like THIS laying around your house. We have more Hello Kitty items than ...... nothing has more Hello Kitty to compare.

On a different note I have a million things I want to get done so I have no idea why I am on this D#$%%^ computer (for you Talane). Today is the last quiet day before the crap hits the fan. We close tomorrow morning and all chaos will fly.

Tomorrow we have a new home. Tomorrow we have a new neighborhood. Tomorrow we have a new address. Tomorrow we have new neighbors. Tomorrow starts our tomorrow. Tomorrow I will drive past my old streets to get to my new one. ITS REALLY FREAKY FOR A SENTIMENTAL PERSON WHO STRUGGLES WITH CHANGE.
Please help this pregnant tired body have the strength to do all the things my mind wants to do. Until then I am spending the day with the sewing machine, breathing.

Sentimentality

Greetings from inside my new kitchen. We had our walk through on Friday and I got to sit inside while Jake did the lame-o outside stuff. While I sat inside I sat on the counter top and thought about how weird it is that in less than a week things will be new. New beginnings and new changes. A new way to watch the sunset and a new way to drive home. Two things I will miss the most about living in my old house. I had the best sunset windows and we took Main Street everywhere we went. Your life is enriched every time to get to drive between all those old trees. That house and that neighborhood will never be replaced but will always be tender to me.

I am pretty disappointed that our friends that were moving into the new neighborhood as well may not be moving there. Though my sadness is met thousand folds by the people that are happy that they are staying where they are. I just won't get the pitty invite to things when they invite her and feel bad for not inviting m too. She is much more likable than I.

So just a few more days and we will close on our house. And two more months and we will have a new baby. Weird, weird, double weird. But nonetheless exciting. I'll never forget my little kids crawling on those floors or eating on the bar. And it will be really weird to be back in Farmington in a different place. The east side is awesome. I just have to run a little farther to get to the Lagoon trail, it will help me get back in shape :)

So to the new and love to the old.
In memory of the old house. That now hold worthy inhabitants that luckily are becoming friends so with our loss we also gain.

Two of my three children were conceived in that bedroom.. hee hee... Let's hope the next house holds the same fertility powers if we so choose to have another! (sorry if that was TMI than you are on the wrong blog.)

OUr Project #2's

First off this is my friend Talane's project 2, and how lucky am I... It was made for me!! Pretty sure it made my whole month. I love it to death and can't wait to hang it in my kitchen and be afraid to wear it in case I dirty it :)

This is my project 2, a blanket. You can't see the doiles very well but they are the best part of it.

And some pillows for Piper and Beckett. Beckett's don't get to be flowered up.

I am off to go to the walk through of my house, sadly missing play date :( but nonetheless excited to be a homeowner again soon and have a place for all my nesting handmade items!

My Awesome From A Far Projects :)

More nesting without the nest :)
Since I am not in a house this is my form of doing something productive to get ready for a baby I guess.

Here are some of the things I have done. Sorry Talane, my project #2 is still not salvaged, so.. you'll have to wait to see my other blanket.
Here is one to tide you over for now.

These are some tops for my little mango.

And here is some fabric that will be a big blanket for my bed and pillows. I just hate to cut into it because it's so pretty though and my blankets are, well, less than perfect to say the least.

And this is for a quilt I am making with my mother in law, someday.

We have less than two weeks until we close on our house, and our walk through is Friday. I am ready but a little sad to leave here and a little overwhelmed by the tasks that moving will entail. I am really feeling pregnant and tired and sore and can't believe I have two more months. I can't believe I am going to be even bigger. I feel monstrous. I already can't wait to bend over, not have tender ribs, roll over in bed, not to mention sleep, and have energy to keep up with the two children. So come two months from now I might be the most unpleasant and onery person that you come in contact with. Just to warn you.

-Oh right this is a blog.. What I REALLY MEANT was.. I am fine, I am great, I am awesome, my life is awesome and being pregnant is easy, I can't wait to paint and decorate a house and unpack! Oh and did I mention how awesome it is to be pregnant??? I just love it, it's such a blessing! My kids are the best kids all the time and we do all these fun things everyday. Much love!

Week 1 Project

My friend, Talane, and I started a thing last week week since we can't actually get together and do it together because she lives across the nation :( to finish a project a week and show it to each other on our blogs. My first project was plate mats for my kitchen table. Hers was a darling apron. I initially set out to do 4 place mats. But it turned into 8 because of poor planning. So.. get ready to be invited over for dinner because I have plate mats for everyone!

These are ones I made from leftovers.

Don't worry soon I will be in my own house with errands, and friends close, and a new baby so I will not have time to be doing this. But in the mean time I have 2 weeks to bust out as many home decorating projects and get ready for baby items as I can while I have a sweet mother in law who lets me use her cadillac of sewing machines and sharp scissors.

And these are my favorite bands I have made so far, made for my friend that can use them to cover her ears when I fill them with so much venting and talking and phone calls. She deserves at least that for putting up with me.

And this is Piper's awesome Hello Kitty box she painted/ modge podged.

Yesterday was NOT a good pregnancy day. In fact, the worst so far. I woke up feeling like I'd rather be buried alive then get any bigger or go on any longer. Lo and behold, I don't look that much bigger.... oh but I feel it!

More Blahhhhging.

Yo yo yo. Another morning where I sit here and check stuff while sipping my caffeine to wake up and planning the day. (Otherwise known as mustering up motivation.) My friend Talane and I have to finish a project we picked out by Sunday and I know today is my only day to do it before then so I am going to get it done. I must say not being in school and not owning a tivo full of guilty pleasures, and man, I sure do have a lot of free time on my hands.

Here is one of Piper's sweet faces. I should tape this on the back of my hand for the many impatient times I am running into where she is YACKING at me constantly, shoving things in my face, walking on my feet, following me into every private space and back talking. (Who, this face????) Well, believe it. Sometimes I wonder if Jake is tempted to take her to work with him just so she is safe all day. Especially since about the time he gets home is when I have had it. Let's just blame it on the pregnancy and not call me evil, shall we?
I believe things happen for a reason and one of the reasons we are living here right now is so she will survive due to all the breaks they give us at night.

Our stucko got put on or painted or whatever and ta da, we are almost there. The exterior is almost done.

And here is a sneak peak into my decorating schemes. Fabrics awaiting to be made into something useful. Some will be pillows, some will be place mats and quite possibly the scraps will be ruffles, blankets, burp clothes, headbands.... or something else :) You know, if anyone out there in cyberspace cares, and if not, at least they are visually stimulating pictures.

Two of Beckett's pillows.

These two are primarily for Alexis:
Here is one on the band, not the elastic. And yes, this is day 8 of not washing my hair. Thus, the reason for excessive hair accessories.

Lex walked me through making one. And if anyone can mess up a tutu...it actually looks good here, but in reality it's too short. But she doesn't care, paired with her favorite Minnie shirt (stated again, it will not be handed down to little mango!) She loves it. If there is word stronger than love, insert that word instead.

Bernina Baby

The last little while I have discovered the most influential thing since my little D60: A SEWING MACHINE. If you haven't heard of this little device, you must try it out! My mother in law has awesome crafty everything, and a million dollar sewing machine that is now equally as coveted as a fancy lens. (Don't pass out, it's still Toni here). I knew you were wondering.
So scowering for stuff I like is a thing of the past, now I can just make it. With all the money I save from not buying as much from anthropologie maybe I can afford a Bernina... What do you think hot pants??????? PPPLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEEE.

Dishrags and place mats for my new kitchen that hopefully will have resolved cabinet doors :(

A birthday present for my cousin, Kate.

A Christmas present to my lovely Talane.

Another gift for my friend.

Necklaces for Piper and her cousin.

And, of course, the head bands I am always sporting to cover up my greasy mop.

Hey, there is another savings... I save so much money NOT washing my hair and buying less Bumble & Bumble, that has got to count toward the Bernina.. you listening wonderful husband of mine??

25 Weeks

I just love her face in this one.

After our run today we had to have hot chocolate after. It was that cold. I must not have been running hard or long enough if I was cold after. I'll work on that. NOT. It sucks running pregnant. If it's not sore legs, it's cramps, or a full bladder and you have to sneak behind a church parking lot.
