As I took pictures off my phone I had to laugh.
I think some of my favorite pictures are taken by my phone. It's always with me for the quick picture of them doing things that are so them. Usually I proceed to send them to Jake at work to make him laugh.
Hello, weirdos.

This was Beck, just a little while after breakfast.
Before this they were shut in watching a movie on the phone.

In case any bad guys come in the night....

Are we posing or being figure skaters?

Are Your Kids As Weird As Mine?

It's Tough, Really It Is.
And what do I do?
I mean I can complain and say typical things that come out of my mouth like, " Indie cried all day." or "I haven't put her down." How about: "Piper won't stop talking." Which are all valid things to drive you insane in the membrane.
But what hard stuff do I do. Important, sure, but hard..mmm.. one can argue.
-Did I shop smart.
-What vegetables am I going to plant.
-When can I get dinner made with a soccer game.
-NO, seriously, why won't this stain come out of Piper's shirt.
-Does Piper really need another pair of shoes. (don't answer that)
I also got to:
-Go for a run with a super fly friend.
-Sing to Team Ooomizoomi. Twice!
-Teach a 5 year old how I do my makeup. Step. By. Step.
-Got a compliment from this 5 year old on my hat. A rarity, these compliments from her.
-Watch my kids and their friends play Just Dance Kids-hilarious.
-Skip washing my hair, yet again, because I have no one important to see.
-Have lunch with my mom. Wait, she's important.
-Point out every sports car on the road with stripes.
-Talk on the phone to a friend.
-Hold a sleeping baby.
-Have company while going to the bathroom, every single time I peed today. Who wants to actually hear the sound of the toilet flushing, gross.
-Get about a dozen hugs from little sticky hands.
-Go to a soccer game. Or a tumbling meet, whatever the girls feel like.

On A Personal Note
I feel like I need to document this day is some way. Selfishly, I guess because the change I am going through isn't comparable to the ones she is going through. Alexis is in the car driving to her new home in Washington. Twelve hours away.
When she called me the first time, in tears, and told me the news I thought, is this really happening? I have felt like this the whole time, even through all our lasts, the play dates, dinners, and surprise parties. But even more so I feel like it today. As she is in a car, with her little kids. Is this really happening?
It probably sounds pretty dumb, to be so sad about it, I mean, she will be back. We will still talk on the phone all the time. I have scheduled to see her every month for the next few months. But still, it feels different. I have other best friends that are still here, but I feel like she needs me like I need her. I like to be needed. I like to be vented to. I like for friends to say things that they, well, probably shouldn't have. No filters, no judgement, no boundaries. It feels different to have this person who has been a constant to me for so long be far away.
But on a positive note, as I told my lover boy last night, I think things like this are good. Feelings need to be vocalized. Love needs to be expressed. In going through change we grow closer because we realize what we have. We write letters, we vocalize it, and we cry. We sob. We see how lucky we are to have the relationships we have. In facing the possibility of losing our bonds we don't take them for granted. I am not only talking about this particular friend but our group of friends. I worry about us as a whole as our organizer leaves, our "glue" of sorts. As I look through our photos of gatherings in the last weeks I feel the same love for each of my sweet friends, a sort of appreciation of what we have that I feel more so because it's threatened by change. Hopefully in spite of this threat our friendships will thrive and we will band together.

And it should be noted, Julie was not present because she had her little baby Jane last week.

Good Times In Souther Utah
We went down to Capital Reef and Goblin Valley last weekend. My camera's battery died, of course so I took the rest of trip's photos with my handy phone. So you can pretend that you are looking at photos of your grandparents taking your parents on a trip in the 1960's.
Here's me and my lover boy, I love photos of him and me together. Especially when he looks semi-photogenic (I love you boss!).

Me and my little firecracker, who is NOT a pleasant person to take camping.. SURPRISE. Love good old electric blue in the background, my bro's truck you can spot across the country.
So Jake kept vocally wishing that we still had a Landcruiser and how much he wants a new one. So what does one do??? Relive the glory days of course and get us high centered on a mole hill. The 4 Runner doesnt exactly compare. Time for a Landcruiser, siiikkkeee.
And of course, pictures so he doesn't live it down. It was funny, as soon as we weren't stuck, of course. And the ghost town we were searching for.. so not worth it.

Big Little Peanut
There haven't been many pictures of my little Peanut for awhile! He sort of slips under the radar, what with his lack of sass, lack of giving me headaches and his just overall lack of anything negative. Paired with his disdain for picture taking and awkward smile (is it this age?).
Thank heavens for you, Peanut. Thank heavens for sweet little boys, with sweet manners, and soft hearts. Thank heavens for Hot Wheels cars in every nook of my home. I thank my heavens for my sweet little boy everyday. I keep thinking that there is a rambunkious, violent, crazy, dirty little boy coming out of him any day now, but not so far. I love him still, but for now I am enjoying my little angel boy the way he is. Sweet, tidy, particular, kind little Peanut.
~That still lets me call him Peanut.
"You mean big Peanut, mom?"

Scenes From A Birthday Party
I can't believe my Lou is one (have I stressed this ENOUGH). No, really, when did this happen??? I was so busy being crazy overwhelmed and sleep deprived it sort of flashed before my eyes. But we had a sweet little family party that was really fun. I had a really good time making things I had seen around the internet that I now I had an excuse to make or try out. I can honestly say I savored and enjoyed her birthday and all the things I made with love for her. Hopefully she did too. It was also, as I've mentioned my brother's birthday so we all went to the big city for lunch together with the birthday people. Then had our sweet party.

Thank you Kimmy for the magnificent balls. (That's what she....oh I better not.)
Late night cake decorating with good friends is the best :)Thanks Steph.

A Post Without A Subject
This post is inspired by Kenzie, my friend and sewing buddy, look at her cute quilts here. (hopefully you don't care I linked you?)I am super proud of her because she would see my sewing projects and say, that looks hard.. and low and behold.. she is flying solo!
So here is some stuff that has touched my sewing machine in the last few months. Pillows that are constantly being updated (me and my flowery fabric addiction), my favorite quilt, and one for my dear fried that had a baby. I have been making a lot of clothes, they are a challenge for me but super fun and rewarding, especially when Piper wears them 4 days in a row (I have no pictures).

So let's see, what else is going on?
I have had a stomach virus on and off for almost a week, that has sucked big time. My fabulous lover boy has been crazy busy making our yard, well, yard-ish. So that is spectacular. We have plants and trees and dirt. Who knew you could have those this far west! I have lots of edible plants growing in my kitchen I am terrified to move outside. Any tips? Piper started playing soccer last week and she really liked it. I was super nervous since when she first saw the uniform she said with her nose wrinkled, "I am NOT wearing THAT." But she likes it, hallelujah! Indie is old, that is crazy. I found rice cereal, formula and her bottles, both of which she used like twice and couldn't bring myself to take them out of the cupboards. I am in denial that she isn't a baby :)So they will stay in the cupboards a little longer.
