I had to write a paper on how to have and maintain a successful marriage and these are two things I thought were really awesome and stuck out to me. Thought I'd share. Since... I mean haven't we all basically mastered being married anyway so we probably don't need them, but for those of us who feel like we should always be striving to maintain it, here you go.
Use the 5:1 ratio, which is for every 1 negative interaction you have you should make 5 positive ones. So for every nag, or fight, or whatever it is, do 5 positive things for your partner.
The one I really like is find out what your partner likes and DO IT. Whether it's holding hands, taking out the garbage, back rubs, dishes.. whatever you do that tells them you love them and appreciate them do it. And probably there are things we are unaware of.
