FAIL
So Indie is now over five months so I figured it was time for some RICE CEREAL. Needless to say, she did NOT like it. Or know what to do with it. Or know what the heck was going on. We failed to get any into her belly. But it sure was funny.

The kids thought it was soooo cool. So Piper got to feed her.
A little bit of a mouth full, don't you think Pipe?
"Mom, WHAT is she doing to me??? Help."
And then she had had it. "I. Don't. Like. It. One. Bit."

What I Wanted To Say
So the other night Miss Lou was up way too much. Then she proceeded to be extremely needy all morning, crying unless she was held. I ran around the house holding her trying to make myself be presentable and attending to the other kids and their many, many needs. Needless to say, I was frazzled. But determined, nonetheless, to get my grocery shopping done for the week.
I make it to the blasted store, the one with the D#$mn little mini shopping carts and my kids are taking the isle and getting in people's ways, I keep saying things like, "watch out" "move over" "come on" "NO BUMPER CARS",etc.
So this older lady passes me by, when my kids finally moved out of her way, she looks at me and the baby in my cart and says, "WELL YOU HAVE YOUR HANDS FULL."
The sleepless night, the frazzled morning, the messy house, the fighting, the horrific shopping trip all flashes before my eyes and all I do is smile.
When really what I want to yell at her is...
...."NO SHIT LADY, WAY TO STATE THE OBVIOUS!"
(Sorry for the cussing. It couldn't be helped.)
And because every post is better with pictures, and I take a lot of them...

No, I didn't make this headband, since I know I'll get asked. I bought it. Indie's new friend Lucy had one and we copied her.

Got The Itch
Probably because it's been a little fall like outside, but I have the sewing itch.
I want this, exact blanket. Isn't it spectacular. So I think I need to copy it and make one like it.
And this.
I have this insane amount of fabric I have been hording wondering what is worthy of it's beauty and too afraid to cut into because once I do I will think of something BETTER to do with all of it. Sometimes I just lay it all out and look at it, and then neatly fold it back up. But this particular time thought I'd take a picture of some of it to show you (Talane) and tell you my plans, as if you care :)
A lot of these are going to be little dresses for Indie because they are only half yards or so. Call me crazy but spider web (no not for Halloween) dresses just seem... me. And when I saw the spider web/butterfly fabric I knew Indie needed some clothing out of it.
I got these to make myself skirts, but when it attempted a practice one I failed. Miserably.
So.. these tigers will be pillows and pillowcase dresses/shirts someday.
Someday soon these little gems will be draped across my body in the cold. And the rest of the unicorns will be on Indie. (but don't tell Piper. Her size uses too much fabric and I am not that rich.)
I have had this for a year now. Yep, a year to the month. It's been awaiting to be made into a nice cozy flannel quilt. I'll get right on that..
More stuff, started and not finished. Neatly put away for a few months.
You see, the problem is, is I have THIS in my bedroom (that doubles as a sewing room) and it stares at me every time I open my eyes for a new day and close them to end a day. Haunting me with dreams of the freedom to practice my new found hobby of quilting and showing me my unfinishedness. I am a finisher too. I finish projects, up until I met Miss Lou..
But I did manage to finish this quilt that I started the month I moved in my house and bought the fabric for in the spring. Good track record. Six month projects.. guess that is the average I am on.
And to think: All I want to do today is go to the fabric store and buy more fabric. Ridiculous?

We Will Miss The Park.
This was our most recent play date at the park. I don't take that fancy of pictures of my kids anymore, they always look all rumpled and messy, and half the time I am like WHAT is she wearing?? But it's real. We let Piper (and now Beck??) dress herself, we don't do hair, and YES we paint Beckett's nails if he so desires.

See, painted nails.

And in real life these two do not get a long. Most. Of. The. Time.
Here are some nice in action shots of him winding up and then making contact. Welcome to a nice peep hole inside my day of Beck hurting Piper.

Is It That Time Again?
It is really that time again? Piper went back to preschool last week. She thought about crying and grabbing onto my leg with a death grip, but it didn't last long. She is going to the same preschool she went to last year, and I am super grateful because otherwise it would have been a lot harder. She is also in it with her best friend Lucy again. Oh we love Lucy. Crazy to think next time this year I will be sending her to kindergarten and taking Beckett here. Crazy. I am going to enjoy this last year together before school as much as I can. If we don't kill each other.

The Many Moods
Ah, mornings. Every morning without fail one of the children wake up on the wrong side of the bed and one of them is insanely bubbly. This particular morning Beck was on the wrong side and Indie was a ball of bubbles. Little kids with their pajamas, bare feet and messy hair, and sweet cheeks that need to be kissed, whatever side of the bed they rolled off of.
Well Piper wanted to hold Indie, she was being so cute and doing this silly cheeky smile. Beckett wouldn't get down and he wouldn't be happy. So.. thus this emerged.

This is the best one, I think I bribed Beck with taking his blanket away.

Hi, my name's Peanut. I am a grouch today.
I have to have my fingers in these ribbons. So don't bother me until I accomplish this.
Actually... Just don't bother me.
At least someone likes the camera.
If the baby gets all the attention, let's just cover her with my blankey. That'll teach her... Or give her diseases. Either way-mission accomplished.
