Got The Itch

Probably because it's been a little fall like outside, but I have the sewing itch.

I want this, exact blanket. Isn't it spectacular. So I think I need to copy it and make one like it.

vintage sheet patchwork quilt.

And this.

aqua & olive

I have this insane amount of fabric I have been hording wondering what is worthy of it's beauty and too afraid to cut into because once I do I will think of something BETTER to do with all of it. Sometimes I just lay it all out and look at it, and then neatly fold it back up. But this particular time thought I'd take a picture of some of it to show you (Talane) and tell you my plans, as if you care :)

A lot of these are going to be little dresses for Indie because they are only half yards or so. Call me crazy but spider web (no not for Halloween) dresses just seem... me. And when I saw the spider web/butterfly fabric I knew Indie needed some clothing out of it.

I got these to make myself skirts, but when it attempted a practice one I failed. Miserably.
So.. these tigers will be pillows and pillowcase dresses/shirts someday.

Someday soon these little gems will be draped across my body in the cold. And the rest of the unicorns will be on Indie. (but don't tell Piper. Her size uses too much fabric and I am not that rich.)

I have had this for a year now. Yep, a year to the month. It's been awaiting to be made into a nice cozy flannel quilt. I'll get right on that..

More stuff, started and not finished. Neatly put away for a few months.

You see, the problem is, is I have THIS in my bedroom (that doubles as a sewing room) and it stares at me every time I open my eyes for a new day and close them to end a day. Haunting me with dreams of the freedom to practice my new found hobby of quilting and showing me my unfinishedness. I am a finisher too. I finish projects, up until I met Miss Lou..

But I did manage to finish this quilt that I started the month I moved in my house and bought the fabric for in the spring. Good track record. Six month projects.. guess that is the average I am on.

And to think: All I want to do today is go to the fabric store and buy more fabric. Ridiculous?

well I think you just might have a small hoarding addiction for fabric. But at least you hoard the good stuff and none of the snowman, frog, johannes kind of fabric... if you know what i mean. I would just like to start making genevieve's first birthday quilt but she keeps sitting on my pedal and crying at my feet it makes it impossible to do anything.

I am the same way. I have so much fabric its taking over my casa. I have all the scraps in case I want to make headbands, patchy pillows or random quilts. I just made a king size quilt just like the first one you posted for my bed. It turned out fantastic. I love it on my bed.

What was your address again?

No, I won't be using that information to break in and steal your fabric...or maybe that's exactly what I'd like to do.

I have a baby stash (compared to yours) of fabric and I just love to stare at it. So pretty. Personally, I don't think there is anything better than coming home with a lovely batch of freshly cut fabric. Sigh.

At least you have it all organized and folded. Mine is all over the house and usually I can't remember where I put the ones I really love.

I am glad you found my blog!! WE can be blog buddies. I love your fabric- holy cow where do you find it? I was reading your post about Indie and I am so sorry. I can relate. Tray was so tough as a baby. There were a lot of days he would just scream all day and I would just cry ALL day loooong! We will have to share stories. If there is anything I can do to help PLEASE let me know. I would love to watch her sometime so you get a break or take a nap. She is dang cute though just like the rest of your fam!!
