Happy Birthday Piper!

Happy Birthday day to my Pipey! I can't believe my baby is FIVE! Piper is so sweet, smart, kind, brave and funny. I love her guts and hope she has a wonderful day.

Our Biker Girl

One of the best things about our new neighborhood is the flat side walks and streets. Where we used to live there were hills and no good places to ride bikes. So, with a dad like hers, naturally Piper picked up on a bike riding like a pro. First thing this spring he took her training wheels off and just like like that we couldn't get enough. By the end of the summer she was cruisin around on her 8 year old cousins gigantic bike. She can do all sorts of skids, ride with no feet and off roading.

A Cute Face For Monday

I don't really have a reason to post other than just these pictures I took of Indie the other day. But I'll try to think of something clever to write to be interesting. Pretty sure I will fail at the whole interesting thing though, being as I just barely got out of my pajamas and got Beck and Indie dressed for the day- it's 4:00. So interesting and today just aren't hanging together. Miss Stinker Face Indie Lou has had a cold the last few days therefore amounting in little to no sleep for me the last couple nights. Which had let my head to pound non stop all day. So I should give myself a little slack for accomplishing nothing today. Literally, nothing. Although cleaning the house and making banana muffins counts, I guess. I also watched a very interesting puppet show put on my a couple of build a bears. I suppose my day did have a little interest after all!
Well Miss Lou will be six months this week. CRAAAAAZY. SEEEEERIOUSLY. WOOOOWWZA. And any other annoying word we can accentuate on. Here are some pictures of her being all cute-like to keep making us all question how she could be such a stinker sometimes. Stinker or not, we love her guts!

Pictures Of My House

So this is a little updated house post. When I posted before here it was just a little while after we had moved in and I have changed some things, told people about some things, thrifted some things, and made some things. The pictures are sort of crappy.


Here's the girls' room, obviously my favorite. There is a lot of love that has went into this room. Notice I ditched the lemon curtains, I know, sad. They will come back someday when I am in the mood for mismatchy again.

There should be knobs where the blue tape is.. Someday. When I visit the hardware store and find the correct stuff to do it and get handy. But until then... blue looks good.


I call this good birth control. A banner of your kids' faces right about your bed. Just in case you were thinking about skipping something....... there are some faces to remind you what you DON'T want more of.

It's rough being a housewife and fiddling with your house all the time....and then blogging about it. But now Miss Lou is crying so.. you know what that means. Gotta go give my arms a workout.

5 Months

Seeeeeeriously. Where does time go? Little Miss Indie Lou is 5 months. Almost sitting up, almost scooting, and almost eating solid foods. Here is a slew of pictures I have taken in the last couple weeks. Ah, I love you Miss Lou.

Monday Reflecting

I have a love hate relationship with Mondays, as I am sure most people do. It's a new start to being organized, cooking better meals, being better, doing more, getting ahead, and starting over. Every week we get this refresh. Or the nagging sense that it's another week of falling short, being behind, feeling overwhelmed, and not being good enough for anyone, especially yourself. Whichever the glass falls, half full or half empty, it's Monday.

My Monday has started off with an worse very bad nights sleep (thanks again Lou), followed by a really fussy morning morning with her, and really bad cramps (TMI?). And it's only 10.

I can't figure out much about Indie and why she is so intense, whether it's negative energy not being able to be released (an explanation in another post), lack of nutrition, or just plain high maintenance. However, I have learned one thing, and conference solidified it.

I can't do this alone. I can't raise these kids properly, and up to what they deserve alone. My humanity isn't going to cut it. It has barely this far. The lack of sleep, the all day marathon, the difficult 4 year old, the baby in my arms ALL DAY, the high shrill crying....on and on. I didn't grow up in the church so as common sense as this may come to some people, doesn't to me. When things are hard I search inside, I don't look up.
When you look up it opens up a whole different aspect of falling short and judgment though. All the things you NEED to be doing, in order to be doing it right. Reading, praying, temple, FHE, church, service, just to name the obvious stuff. That doesn't include what's inside us.

I don't really know what the point of this post is, for you. If you're reading, but for me I think it's signifying that this particular Monday is a more hopeful Monday. A different kind of fresh start brought on by a nice conference, a hard night, and what looks to be, a hard day. But I am glad, nonetheless that I am sitting in my pajamas with some annoying loud toy playing, a peanut playing with his oatmeal and a baby asleep in her swing. Or maybe I am just glad she is asleep......for now.
