Life As A SAHM

As life just keeps keeping on with two kids I find myself constantly reevaluating my life and my purpose. I used to be so proud of our decision to have me stay at home and it was just that: a decision. But now with the two kids it has all the sudden hit me that I really don't have a choice but to stay home, I mean what would I do with my kids? And what would I do that would make enough money to pay for daycare. And how would I manage the guilt of putting my kids in daycare? So as you can see even though I "choose" to stay at home, I really don't have a choice in so many ways. But I will keep referring it to the fact that I "get" to stay at home, and I choose to. Whether or not it's true I will cease to analyze. Speaking of which both kids are crying, one going to sleep, one waking up. No rest for the weary, and by weary I mean fussy baby at 5 a.m. Ok. Crisis averted, thank goodness for the binkie baby.
So even though it may appear I lounge around in my pajama's all day in truth I would just rather not subject my designer jeans to diapers, spit up or Pine Sol. And even though it appears I have time to post on my blog what you don't see is me bouncing a newborn on my lap so I can. I just hope he stays content long enough for me to balance and pay bills. And although you may think I look good and get ready everyday and maybe even have someone important to see, I just get ready so I feel ready even if I don't leave the house. And although the television is on all day...it's on cartoons, and I would give an arm and a leg if it could entertain Gossip Girl or October Road for more than a half hour at a time. So in conclusion I can see how those of you could say we stay at home moms do nothing..It just appears that way, and when we do get to occasionally sit and watch some cheesy unrealistic show about high school students it may or may not make it all worth it :) Which is less personal time than the worker bee gets unless you include commute time, which I do not. So although I am so thankful that I am a stay at home mom and would not have it any other way I think sometimes my inner selfishness and cool girl comes out. The one who gags at the fact that I haven't worn heels in months. (yes, there is some cool in me left.)

Adventures At Home

Pretty exciting day eh? This is us in search of a good cheesecake recipe cause I lost mine. And no, I can not function without a recipe for the most part. As you can tell Beck was pretty bored by baking which is portrayed by the two seconds he woke up to stretch and then go back to sleep. But by the first picture you wonder how sanitary our baking masterpiece really is, and really, I swear Piper can be photogenic.

So you know what drives me nutts? When anything someone touches is left worse than it was before. Always has bothered me. Probably doesn't make sense but it does to me. That is why I have this thing with making whatever or wherever I am better than left it. For example: You get out of your car you take your crap out with you, your diet coke cans, whatever. You go to the grocery store, you return your cart where it goes. You go to someone's house, you pick up after your kid, or clean up their house if it's your grandma. As long as you aren't leaving your trail in a bad way in whatever place you go or thing you do. Just in general whatever you do, wherever you are...leave it better than you left it. Goes for people and relationships too but that would be too broad to start upon. Ok that is enough of my OCD lecture. But it's a good rule in theory.

Y o Yo Yo

Well I figured I better write something even if it's lame because I hate when I check other people's blogs and there is nothing new! So.. had a good weekend, blah blah. Did some family dinners which were very fun. Can't go wrong with the Pizzeria (in O Town). Went to a Thai place with the whole family. Piper had a sleep over at grandma's. Went to cute Zoee's over the top blessing celebration. We watched the All Star game at my brother's house, well more so I watched kids instead of the game. Yesterday we took Piper to a pet store to look at animals and then to the Hello Kitty store and to ride on the carousel at the Southtowne Mall. Then hung out at the Carroll's for awhile. It was a nice weekend. However I don't know why children insist on not sleeping. I think every kid you have cuts your sleep in half. We tried to establish good sleeping habits too... but Piper wakes up in the middle of the night so much now. I think maybe she knows Beck is in the bedroom. And then there is him... He just grunts and snorts all night. So typical boy. I feel bad for Jake he had to go to school and then work all day after maybe 4 or 5 hours of sleep. At least I get to hang out in my jammies for a few hours. But, don't worry good dinner and dessert are on the way for him to look forward to. So anyway that is my lame and boring update from Tone Loc.

Eli's Girly Side

First Obi is kissing the baby doll and now Eli and the stroller and purse??? What isn't portrayed here is how mad Eli was when Piper would try to take it away.

Dress Up All Around

My poor little peanut, I mean Princess Peanut. You can't tell but Piper has three crowns on. How do little boys survive older sisters? This is going to be interesting. We will just have to counteract it with some macho burping and chest banging.

I sort of got a kick out of this. It's a cartoon sort of making fun of the gender stereotypes, (I say stereotypes because it is what the society expects of us not something that is actually always true).
