My Face & Theirs

Ah look it's my first and only real picture with my children.. just me and them. This is my life, everyday. Peanut just hanging out, chillin', Piper being a diva. I am sort of burnt out of blogs and blogging, but hanging on for dear life. Blogs are good, but they are also bad. Like so many things.

We keep talking about summer vacations and things going on and I am so ready to throw on my camping clothes, go on a road trip and not shower for a week :) In true Jake and Toni way. Just us, Polly the Prius, and two (restless) kids. Soon it will be March and we will be all but there. For now I am going to savor the furr collared coats and scarves and pretend swim suit season is years away.

I went through some old photos that I had in a box under my bed. Oh man, hilarious. Some high school, some college, and some dating and when we first married. What a great life this is. I love memories. I love to pull out the small box I bury deep and put the people that are so dear and impacted my life so much in..pull them out and just think about them. Appreciate the time I had with them and the fact that I am me because of them. Pain or no pain.

Love to all.

Saturday Pondering and BLAH-ging

It's Saturday and I am waiting for Beck to fall asleep so I can go shower and eat lunch with my girls. I. Can. Not. Wait.
So.. yes, I am taking pictures while driving, but in my own defense it was a red light. That was Beck's first toddler car seat experience. He was in awe of the wonderous world out there and I just had to laugh. It was hilarious. And he couldn't figure out the mirror/me thing. It was funny.
Then there is the only picture I have of them yet looking at me and smiling. Simultaneously. I wish for the life of me I could remember what I was doing.
It is so odd to me to picture one day Beck will tower over me. For now I will treasure his little boyness.
I am looking forward, as is everyone else, to warmth. Blogging and cleaning and bundling is getting warn out. I want to be running outside in the heat and swimming and parking it. It's time..and at least if it's going to be cold it should snow.
I am also looking to the future when kids aren't sick (not mine, ever.) and people aren't being so concerned and judgy about taking sick kids around other kids. EVERYONE does it so just get over it. Me included.
And why do I check facebook everyday?? It's not like anyone ever writes on my extraordinary wall. Oh summer.. take me away from this addicting internet. Give me something to photography beside my kids. Give me vacations and camping and summer nights and parties. Come on, come on. Winter don't drag. Plus another couple of months in this 100 year old house and the heating bills are going to bankrupt us. Old house=cuteness, sure BUT=cold in winter=$.
Let the force be with you, whatever it may be. For me, today, the force is having an hour doing something I want, eating, with girls.. at a place I like.

Blah Blah Blogging

My children are growing up before my eyes.. crazy. I had to bust out sister to document Beck being turned around in his car seat yesterday and ended up just watching him walk around outside. Yesterday was so fun getting together with some girls. What is it about hanging out with friends and feeling the oneness that we are all going through the same things in life. I love people that are real and aren't afraid to talk about their "ski slopes" or messy houses. Thank you thank you for making all my imperfections seem less perfect and more normal. But at the same time inspiring me to get up so early and train for half marathon. There is a difference between being motivating and being bragful (not a word, until now!) I mean who wants a friend who is always trying to portray perfection and a life that no one would really enjoy or live up to? Not me. I love friends that are real and put true perspective on life. Life is hard and confusing and motivating at times and unmotivating at other times. So I am lucky to have such a vast array of people in my life that help me keep me grounded and also give me something to live up to.

That picture of Piper almost makes you believe how innocent she could be....... MMM.. pictures can sure twist reality. I love you though Pipe, you are hilarious and my peanut is still an angel baby.

P.S. I am way excited for dinner group tonight. Probably too excited, it's been weeks since I have done something on my own without children besides school and pictures. So yeah!! More great gals to converse with.
