So I just need to gather myself here for a minute before I face the world through another day. This week has been really jam packed for me and I am sort of hanging by a thread. I have had a lot going on, a lot of decisions, new experiences and a lot of stress topped with two kids by my side through it all. Why is it that it is so much harder to think and make logical complex decisions with a whining baby and chatty three year old talking at the same time? Go figure. I am just feeling a little overwhelmed, alone, and frozen in my swimming swirling head. So I am taking a few minutes before I run off to dance class and Salt Lake, doing a million more things today, to myself here because it's the only place I can go right now. I can do hard things. I can do hard things. I can do hard things. I am a warrior. I need no help, I need no more strength. I possess it all. I can do it all. I can keep it together and accomplish what needs to be done. Just go, don't think, and do.

Thank you blog and strangers of the internet for being so therapeutic. Now I must go do my hard things.

To Be Three

This was Piper's day yesterday. Snow angels, snow eating, cookie batter, analyzing cupcakes. My day... Being in wonder of what it would be like to be her. Easy easy. I wish I could go back to childhood when the goal of my existence was met through senses and instant thoughts, no logic, no pragmatics, no abstracts. Just here and now. No to-dos. No responsibilities but assigning cupcakes to loved ones and making sure I don't miss a lick on the beater filled with dough. Not to mention the freedom to dress like a gypsy, even when playing in the snow. Maybe someday I can live life that simply, but for now I will still try to capture her in those moments so one day she can reflect on them and find some perspective if she is overwhelmed, lost or too busy to enjoy the things in life that are all that matter. Like I am doing when I watch her.
And yes.. let's all the morn the moving on from the skull and crossbones background. So sad and yes I hesitated to change it out of clinging to the familiar, but all things come to pass with time and my work flow is such that I prefer it to flow the same way as my other blog. Most apologies skull gal-although remnants are visible at top to show my respect for the time that you gave me.
I seriously wish I was still asleep, but I woke up when Jake was off for the day early and in trying to be quiet I ended up experiencing a Mac attack.

Excuses and Busy

The other day we hung out outside because it was oh so nice. We will pretend it was in the morning due to the fact that Beck is in his jammies...It gave me a chance to try out the new significant other. Check the photo site if you don't know what I am talking about. Not much is going on here just some playing, a lot of messes, a lot of toys, a lot of fun, a lot of Lost watching (ok just a little), our first colds of the season and keeping busy doing whatever it is we do.
I keep meaning to register for the O Town half marathon but things keep getting in the way. I am wondering if it's a me being lazy and making excuses or my non conscious self slipping into my consciousness and trying to persuade it to be realistic. Whichever one it is, I will let you know what comes of it. Maybe one of the dozens of people that I have sworn to train with will use peer pressure tactics to push me over the edge. Here's to hopin'. In any case one triathelete in the family seems to be a lot as it is so if my other excuses of getting letters for grad school and summer weddings don't work out I'll fall back on that. Or maybe I should just be like the rest of the world out there, woman in particular, and take on way more than I should and can handle. OR MAYBE if this inversion persists I will blame it on that, I mean I don't need any more toxins than the over compulsive cleaning and disinfecting puts into my body!
Well anyway.. Thanks for your time. And no offense Peanut, but you look sort of like a gomer in that second picture.

Happy Birthday PEANUT!

Oh sweet sweet peanut, Happy Birthday! I love my boy and can't hardly believe he is one already. I really hope your cake that I am making tonight turns out half as sweet as you.

Blanky Wars

So small problem: Beckett is sort of in love with Piper's blanket that she is sort of in love with. They constantly fight over her blankies (she has three of the same... backups if you will...) and she won't share any one them with him. So we sneak them to him when we can until she notices.
